A pretty scary event this afternoon on Mackinac – an islander left St. Ignace on her snowmobile to cross the ice bridge to the island.

On a lighter note . . .
Personal note: There may be something in the works that will involve an early season visit to Mackinac. You’ll hear all about it as soon as all the details are worked out, but for now . . . keep your fingers crossed (and your toes)!
Wishing everyone a very Happy Valentine’s Day on Saturday, and – good Lord willing – I’ll see you back here on Sunday!
God bless.
Oh, by the way . . .
Ohhhh all excited about an early visit!!…can’t wait to hear!
I was just reading about the snowmobile fire….was very surprised because I didn’t think there was an ice bridge this year. Anyway, glad no one was hurt and wonder what happened?
Love, love your moment of insanity…you look beautiful Brenda!. But your beautiful with your hair cut or not. Love you for YOU!

Love your new hair do! A cut and color can always brighten any mood. I need that treatment at this time in the winter. Just heard it’s going to be a longer winter than usual. Oh yippee! I’m hoping your early Mackinac Island plans work out. Lucky you! It’s fortunate that no one got hurt in the snowmobile fire. Good thing the were other riders around. Scary stuff.

Like Hilde, I didn’t know the ice bridge had formed……..I watched the 9-10 news clip from the last post and hope all heed Jason St. Onge’s safety tips and warnings that the ice isn’t like last year. That’s just so crazy anyone would even venture over to the shipping lane or out by the bridge.

Brenda,
That snow mobile fire is scary. I’m glad no one was hurt.
Early trip to Mackinac. I sure hope it all works out.
New house with some new furniture in a new state, so you should have a new hair do. Hey, do you think I could use one? Maybe I’ll curl the top.
By the way, I know you’re having some cool weather right now, but so you will feel a little warmer, I want you to know that it’s 1 above now at about 11 pm and expected to go down a few more degrees.

Truly terrifying with the snowmobile catching on fire, but so relieved it was close to shore and no injuries. Also, your hair style looks very nice on you….good choice and it’s fun to mix it up a bit. Take care and stay warm!

I think your new haircut is so cute! How long have they been using the ice bridge? I wasn’t sure if the weather was good enough for one this year. My parents want to go up with their sleds this month and they love going to the island to ride. I may not tell them about the fire incident though.
The picture from Robert of the horses by the speed limit sign is just priceless! Thanks and Happy V-Day to you and Ted. Can’t wait to hear about your potential visit. We already have our reservations made for this summer. Going the end of June/first of July with our whole clan. Can’t wait!

Maybe two weeks on the ice bridge, Karen. Not nearly as thick as last year.

Have to admit to taking a quick scroll down to see the pics before actually reading and literally laughing out loud when I saw the pic of the horses looking at the speed limit sign and exclaiming, “YEA! IT’S LOVELY!” when I saw the haircut! Hope you learn to love it!

I agree with everyone about the snowmobile fire – so scary, and glad it was that close to the island. As for your hair, it looks perfect for a super-cool lady who lives by the ocean! Very easy, breezy, I-live-by-the-sea kind of a look – and it looks good on you, too. Have a great Valentine’s Day! (We’re getting down to -13 tonight actual temperature, colder with wind chill. It’s all realtive when you talk cold weather!)
